  1. Beautiful photos. I can’t decide which I like best. I used to see the Statue of Liberty from my apartment. I never stopped thinking it was amazing.
    Did you know that it was the basis for modern skyscrapers? The idea of making a tall frame, and then cladding it. Load-bearing walls can only go up so far, or else they have to be incredibly thick at the bottom. The Statue of Liberty showed how to change all that.

    1. Thank you. It is an incredible structure, isn’t it. We appreciated it much more after going up inside the crown. I loved Ellis Island as well – there’s such a history and atmosphere to it all (and I loved the mini mural!)
